Greetings to all
Babes,
My name is Mary Kamau. I am in my
final year at Highline Community College, studying Human Services. I started
volunteering at BABES towards the end of 2004.
I subsequently started my internship in the fall
of 2005. This Spring I am doing my second and final internship. I have been so
blessed and privileged to have the opportunity of interacting with the staff
and the Babes, making many friends and learning so much from these amazing
women.
I feel so at home whenever I am in their midst. I
love to knit and to dance, so I hope that you will join us for our weekly
Friday Knitting circle and the upcoming Salsa Dancing event at the Century
Ballroom in Seattle!
Hi BABES,
My name is Lindsay Pharmer, and I am a new Intern
here at Babes Network-YWCA. I wanted to introduce myself to all of you and
share a little bit about myself. I am a first year medical student at Drexel
University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.
Currently I am doing a seven week internship here
in the Seattle area. In addition to working at BABES, I will also be working in
a pediatrician's office.
Before moving to Philadelphia, I lived in Seattle
for five years while I attended Seattle University. I love the Seattle area and
am very excited to be back. I am originally from Boise, ID. In my free time I
enjoy yoga, knitting, cooking, scrap booking, and traveling.
I am excited to be working here and look forward
to meeting you.

Mi nombre es Mary Kamau.
Estoy en mi último año en Highline Community College, estudiando
Servicios Humanos. Empecé a ser voluntaria de las BABES al final del
2004.
Después
empecé mi práctica en el otoño del 2005. Esta primavera
estoy haciendo mi segunda y última práctica. He sido muy bendita
y privilegiada por tener la oportunidad de interactuar con el personal y con
las Babes, haciendo muchas amigas y aprendiendo mucho de esas mujeres
maravillosas.
Me siento como en casa
siempre que estoy entre ustedes. Me encanta tejer y bailar, así que
espero que semanalmente se unan a nosotras para nuestro círculo de
Tejido de los Viernes y también para el próximo evento de Baile
de Salsa en el Century Ballroom en Seattle.
