Volume 14 Issue 5 - Page 2 May 2006

Nothing is wrong with having a mother with HIV, she is the same good mom. When my mom told me she had HIV I felt no shame or resistance to love my mom. I was worried about my mom dying at a young age but soon I wasn't because I knew it wasn't true. I have a mom with HIV and I'm not ashamed.

Amado

Ever since I learned my mother had HIV/AIDS I was worried for her. I thought she would have told me earlier if I had the virus, so I wasn't worried about myself. I was worried about my mother. After a while I noticed that she was more energetic than most people without the virus. When I learned that HIV could shorten her life I was sad about that, but I know one thing, my mom will live a great life with AIDS. AIDS doesn't stop my mom from being a wonderful person.
