Billy's thoughts on having an HIV positive mother

For me, I've always known that it was bad for my Mom to have HIV, but still it never seriously bothered me. It's not a secret either. My friends know, my family does, and no one treats me any different. I think that at times, it's bad because it might mean that she can't play basketball with me because she feels completely exhausted, or she gets pains and has to stay in bed.

But, I'm glad that my Mom is fighting it off. Maybe someday, she'll have no signs of HIV and it'll all be over. But, I'll keep hope and eventually it will come true for my Mom and for others who suffer from HIV, a horrible disease, on a daily basis.

My Grandma

My Grandma is special to me because she's just not any other Grandma she's my grandma and she's diagnose with AIDS now with her having AIDS it doesn't mean she cant go to the movies or go on the ferry she can do a lot of things she doesn't just stay in bed she goes out and does things.

If I hug her I'm not going to get AIDS if I kiss her I'm not going to get AIDS now if she cuts her self and I touch her and her blood gets on an open entry on my hand and the blood gets in that's how I can get it from her, but I'm not afraid of her, just because she has AIDS doesn't mean I'm not going to love her.

I will ALWAYS, ALWAYS love her no matter what.

Sammy
