Volume 14 Issue 2- Page 4 February 2006

Continued from Page 3

Am I happy? Today I am. I will strive to do my best not to get too far ahead of myself, for it can be all together too overwhelming. I've never given up on myself, and having just started HIV meds, I feel I have a second lease on life!! I am loved by a wonderful man and supported by my family and friends. That makes me happy.

When I try to balance the complications of HIV/AIDS - with the meds and the constant Dr. visits - it can be hard to see what it's all for. My advice is to look to the simpler things and see how good it can be!! NEVER stop believing in yourselves, even if the original dream in the pursuit of happiness changes. Modify the old dream if you can, or even better make a new one. It's never too late!! It may seem too much at times, but we are strong women, determined women!! Never give up in your pursuit for happiness.

It took me all these years to find it, but I can say I never gave up!! And I never will!! If you are happy today, revel in it, and remember: LIFE IS WORTH IT! The bad days are only just that. Give them no power over you, and try to find at least one thing each day that brings a smile to your face. If you can't, it's OK to crawl back under the covers from time to time.

TNever give up your pursuit of happiness!! YOU CAN DO IT and YOU ARE WORTH IT!!

Nunca me he dado por vencida y recién he empezado mis medicinas anti-VIH.

Y nunca me daré. Si eres feliz hoy, revélalo, y recuerda: ¡LA VIDA VALE LA PENA!
