Family Fun Center
Monday,
June 14th
How does this sound? Bring your kids (age 5 and
older) and join us for a great time! The afternoon starts with lunch at a
restaurant near the Fun Center at 1:30. After lunch we will all go to the
Family Fun Center near Southcenter in Tukwila. There you and your children or
grandchildren will be treated to two hours of bumper boats, the rock wall, mini
golf and kidopolis.
RSVP to Nicole (206-720-5566 ext 12) Space is
limited to 20 people, so call right away. Transportation is available if you
call early enough to make arrangements.

Walk and Talk Tuesday

Speaker: Nancy Cooper, Occupational therapist from Harborview Medical
Center
Come and join us on a leisurely walk every other
TUesday beginning June 22nd. Bring your walking shoes, your water bottles and
even your walkman. We will begin our half hour walk at our office and leisurely
stroll through the beautiful Seattle University Gardens. We will stretch on the
lush green grass returning to the office where we will kick off our program
with our guest speaker, Nancy Cooper, Harborview Occupational therapist. She
will talk to us about the benefits of walking.
Every other Tuesday our walk will end in the
office with an half hour of educational talk. Get up to date information on new
studies, what's on the horizon in HIV treatment, etc.... Come and share your
experiences and hear from other veterans with this disease as well. Sign up
early!!! The first 10 women will receive a
pedometer!

VOICES 2004 CONFERENCE
VOICES conference: The AIDS Alliance for CHildren,
Youth & Families presented this conference in Washington DC, May 23-25.
BABES attended many sessions and activities to support, inspire, and challenge
us in our work with our advocacy for women, children, youth and families living
with or affected by HIV and AIDS.
The conference attendees have lots of great new
information about what is happening in the world of HIV/AIDS. Find out what
they learned and ask questions.

grande. Empenzamos esa tarde con una comida en el restaurante que esta cerce de
Fun Center a la 1:30. Despues de comer iremos al Family FUn Center cerca de
South Center en Tukwila. Alli tu y tus hijos o nietos sereis invitadas a dos

Martes para Andar y Conversar

Ven y únete a
nosotras en una lenta caminata todos los martes empezando el 22 de junio. Trae
zapatillas de deporte, botellas de agua y si quieres el walkman. Empezaremos en
nuestra oficina andando durante media hora y después pasearemos
tranquilamente por los bellos jardines de la Universida de Seattle. Haremos
estiramientos en la hierba regresando a la oficina donde empezaremos nuestro
programa de nuestra conferenciante invitada, Nancy Cooper, terapeuta
profesional de Harborview, que nos hablará sobre los beneficios de
caminar.
Todos los martes nuestra
caminata terminara en la oficina con media hora de charla educativa.

empieza a las 18:30 - Tres de las nuestras viajaron a Washington D.C.
Ven a escucharias contarnos
sus experiencias en el Congreso de VOICES 2004. La Alianza SIDA para ninos,
jovenes, y familias presento este congreso en Washington DC del 23 al 25 de
mayo. Las representativas de la BABES Networm asistieron a muchas sesiones y
actividades que nos apoyan, nos alientan, y nos desafian en nuestro trabajo con
las mujeres, los ninos, los jovenes, y las familias que viven con el VIH o el
SIDA o que se ven afectacdas por ellos.
Las personas que asistieron
al congreso tienen mucha informacion nueva que compartir acerca de lo que pasa
en el mundo del VIH y del SIDA. Esta conferencia es una oportunidad para saber
lo que aprendieron y para hacer preguntas. La conferencia tendra lugar en la
oficina de la BABES Nettwork:
