I said a little prayer and asked God to give me
the courage to contact her. Then I picked up the phone. It rang twice and
someone answered. I said, "Hello. My name is Jane Millicah. I don't know if you
remember me." I was in tears and thought the person on the other end could
tell. Before I said another word, she said, Your's Elizabeth's friend from Voi,
Kenya." I said, "Yes"l I asked her what city she was in. She said, "Washington,
D.C." I told her that I was also in Washington, D. Cl near Howard University.
She asked me for my address.
Ten minutes after my call to Beverly, she was
knocking on my door. She came in and I was very happy to see her. I told her
about the problems I was going through; she did not have a second thought. We
went to her home. The following day we came back to my home, gathered the
little belongings that I had and from there on, the rest is history. Beverly
was there for me when I needed her. She is the est friend that I have, always
and forever a beautiful friend.
Beauty

Wow, beauty-what a captivating word. We capture
beauty every time we see the sky, smell a fragrant flower and breathe in that
fragrant aroma of flowers.
Beauty can also be found in a well maintained
home. A clean refigerator full of wholesome goodies is a beautiful thing.
Beauty is a cheese cake all to yourself or
whatever your favorite treat is.
Beauty is also what motivates us to take care of
our personal appearance. It can be found in flossing, brushing our teeth,
fixing our hair and painting our fingernails and toes (for those who can reach
them).
Beauty is your state of mind. There is something
exquisite about a polite, friendly and helpful person.
Ultimately, beauty is love. So love yourself and
yor world - we as a planet can be beautiful too.

Todavia hoy me parece un
mistero. Segui buscando en mi bolso, saque mi agenda de direcciones que solia
usar en Kenia y la abri. Justo en la pagina que abri aparecio el numero de
telefono de Beverly. Me pare un monento y me prequnte si todavia me recordaria.
Dije una pequena oracion y pedi a Dois que me diera el coraje para llamarla.
Entonoces, cogi el telefono y la llame. Sono dcos veces y luego alguien
respondio. Yo dije: "hola, mi nombre es Jane Millicah. No se si me recuerdas."
Estaba sollozando y pense lo que la otra persona podia estar pensando. Antes de
que dijera otra palabra, ella dijo, "eres la amiga de Elizabeth de Voi, Kenia".
Y yo respondi "si". La pregunte en que ciudad vivia y me dijo en "Washington,
D.C.", la conte que tambien estaba alli, cerca de la Universidad Howard. Luego
me pidio mi direccion.
A los diez minutos de mi
llamada, Beverly ya estaba llamando a mi puerta. Entro y fue estupendo veria.
La conte los problemas por los que estaba pasando y no se lo penso dos veces y
nos fuimos a su casa. Al dia siguiente regresamos a mi casa, reunimos las pocas
pertenencias que tenia y a partir de entonces el resto es historia. Beverly
estuvo alli conmigo cuando la necesite. Es la mejor amiga que he tenido y
siempre sera una amiga maravillosa.

belleza

¡Que maravilla!
,,Belleza>> es una palabra cautivante. Capturamos la belleza cada vez que
vemos el cielo, cada vez que olemos una flor fragante, y cada vez que
respiramos el perfume de las flores.
La belleza tambien puede
encontrarse en una casa bien mantenida. Un frigorifico limpio que esta lleno de
comida buena y sana es tambien algo bello.
La belleza es comprarte una
torta de queso enteramente para ti misma, o comprarte tu dulce favorito.
La belleza es tambien lo que
nos anima a cuidar nuestra apariencia fisica. Se encuentra en el acto de usar
el hilo dentifrico, de cepillar los dientes, de arrenglar el cabello, y de
pintarse las unas de las manos y de las pies (¡para aquellas entre
nostoras que pueden alcanzarlas!)
La belleza se encuentra en
tu estado de mente. Hay algo exquisito en una persona que sabe sercortes y
amable, y que esta dispuesta a ayudar.
En el fondo, la belleza es
el amor . Por eso tienes que amarte a ti misma y amar al mundo, porque todos
juntos como planeta podemos ser bellos.
