The good news is that I am close to my two kids and grandchildren who support me all the way. I am trying to stop smoking, lose weight and learn to eat healthier. I take one day at a time. Some days are better than others.

I hope my story will let a lot of HIV+ women know from this old lady to hang in there. You can do it like I did. It hasn't been as easy road, but I am making it.

Like I said, take one day at a time and hang in there.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

New Men's Group

If you are male, heterosexual, HIV positive or HIV negatie but married to, living with, or in a relationship with an HIV positive woman, this group may be for you!

The group will be facilitated by Ron Yates. The first meeting will be on MOnday, AUgust 2nd, at 1120 East Terrace, Suite 100, in Seattle. We will start at 7 PM and last until 8:30PM. Ron Yatges and BBES Network are creating this support group following the format of "Father's Voices", a former heterosexual men's support group dealing with issues surrounding HIV/AIDS. We invite men to call BABES Network at 206-72-05566 to find out more about the group.

Ron syas, "The prejudice that surrounds HIV and AIDS in everyday life is totally apparent to people dealing with this disease. We will come together to ehlop each other with these issues. YOU ARE NOT ALONE! We no longer have to hide behind anger, drugs, depression, self-pity, or (you fill in the blanks.)"

Let us come together to support each other in life." Ron continues, "Here you can share you pain. Here you an share you joys. Here we can tell one another how life is turning around without the ever-present fear of exposure. Just show up and we can figure out the rest together. The bottom line is we can choose to take back some or all the control that HIV has taken from us if we choose to."
