BABES Network-YWCA is a peer support program for women living with HIV; a sisterhood of women facing HIV together. BABES was started by a group of
HIV positive women in Seattle, Washington who came together to share
information, experiences and support.
BABES is founded on the concept that HIV positive women are
uniquely qualified to understand and to encourage one another.
BABES is dedicated to building a community among
women from all walks of life who are facing HIV and AIDS. We offer a
women-centered environment and assure confidentiality.
BABES is a program of the YWCA of Seattle-King County- Snohomish County that provides:

- Gatherings
- Advocacy
- Self-Advocacy Training
- Educational Forums
- Retreats
- Monthly Bi-lingual Newsletter
- Outreach & Prevention Education

Our HIV/AIDS Outreach & Prevention Education (HOPE) Project trains and coordinates people living with HIV to share their stories through media campaigns, speaking engagements and community forums in order to educate the public, combat stigma and stop the spread of HIV.
