BABES Has
Moved!
As of Wednesday, May 2nd, the BABES
Network program is located on the 4th Floor of the YWCA's headquarters at 5th
Avenue & Seneca Street in downtown Seattle. Our new address is: 1118 Fifth
Avenue, Seattle, WA 98101.
We have a map, driving directions
and parking and bus information available by request. Feel free to call us at
206-720-5566 or (toll free) at 1- 800-292-1912 if you have any questions.
If you enter from Seneca Street,
the elevators will be on your left. Take them to the 4th Floor. The 4th Floor
is mostly residential and has about 15 people living on it, so please keep your
voice down and be respectful of their space. We will have open elevator access
during BABES business hours, but please note that the 4th Floor is kept locked
on evenings and weekends for the safety of the residents.
Once on the 4th Floor, follow the
signs that say "BABES." You'll make a right off the elevator and then a quick
left down a long hallway. At the end of that hall you'll see the Peer
Counselor/Coordinator Office, which is Room 432. Nicole, Kelly or Amelia can
then let you in to the "BABES Living Room," which is Room 423. The BABES Living
Room is where you'll find the Magic Closet, public computer, couches, books,
magazines, educational resources, music, snacks, knitting supplies … and,
of course, Stella. This is also where we will have our women's support groups.
(Kids' Corner will be in the gym on the 1st Floor.) If you want to visit Sarah,
you'll need to walk past the Living Room to the end of that hall. She's on the
right in Room 427. Email The_staff@babesnetwork.org.

Spotlight Sandy Stillwell, BABES Website Designer/Manager
Since 2004, Sandy has ensured that the BABES
website is a welcoming and up-to-date resource for women around the globe.
Designing and managing the website is just one contribution among many that
Sandy has made to people living with HIV. In February of 2006 Sandy and the
BABES staff succeeded in lobbying the Bothell City Council to pressure Congress
to reauthorize the Ryan White Care Act with full funding for women in tact. The
BABES staff would like to thank Sandy for her commitment to HIV positive women
around the world!

are to share information, publicize events and create a forum for the voices of
women with HIV/AIDS to be heard. We encourage you to make BABES Talking your

¡Las BABES se han mudado!
Desde el miércoles 2
de Mayo, el Programa de la Red de las BABES estará ubicado en el 4º
Piso de las Oficinas Centrales del YWCA en la 5ª. Avenida y la calle
Seneca en el centro de Seattle. Nuestra nueva dirección es: 1118 Fifth
Avenue, Seattle, WA 98101.
En ésta revista,
encontrarás una hoja con un mapa, direcciones para manejar e
información sobre parqueo y buses. Llámanos al 206.720.5566 o

Si entras por la calle
Seneca los elevadores estarán a tu izquierda. Sube hacia el 4º
piso. El 4º piso es residencial y tiene unas 15 personas viviendo
ahí, así es que por favor mantén tu voz baja y respeta el
espacio de ellos. Nosotras tendremos acceso abierto a los elevadores durante el
horario de las BABES, pero por favor noten que el 4º piso se mantiene
cerrado durante las noches y fines de semana para la seguridad de los
residentes.
Una vez en el 4º piso,
sigue las señales que dicen "BABES." J Dobla a la derecha del elevador y
luego a la izquierda hacia un pasillo largo. Al final del pasillo, verás
la Oficina de Consejera/Coordinadora, en el Cuarto 432. Nicole, Nelly o Amelia
les llevarán a "La Sala de las BABES", en el Cuarto 423. La Sala de las
BABES es donde encontrarás el Closet Mágico, computadoras
públicas, sofás, libros, revistas, recursos educativos,
música, bocaditos, materiales para tejer… y por supuesto a Stella.
Aquí es donde también tendremos nuestros grupos de apoyo para las
mujeres. (La Esquina de los Niños estará en el gimnasio en el 1er
piso). Si quieres visitar a Sarah, necesitarás pasar La Sala hacia el
final del pasillo. Ella estará en el Cuarto 427. The_staff@babesnetwork.org.

Directora/Diseñadora del Sitio Web de las BABES
Desde 2004, Sandy ha
asegurado que el sitio Web de las BABES sea un recurso actualizado y de
bienvenida para las mujeres alrededor del mundo. Diseñando y dirigiendo
el sitio web es solo una contribución entre muchas otras que Sandy ha
hecho para la gente viviendo con VIH. En febrero del 2006, Sandy y el personal
de las BABES tuvieron éxito en presionar políticamente al Concejo
de la Ciudad de Bothell y al Congreso para re-autorizar el Acto de Cuidado de
Ryan White (Ryan White Care Act) con financiamiento completo para las mujeres
en consideración. Al personal de las BABES le gustaría agradecer
a Sandy por su dedicación hacia las mujeres VIH positivo alrededor del
mundo.
