Life Is Better with a Dog

Lance had some big paw prints to fill when he became my dog last October. I had just spent the last 14 years with Bobo, my barky, playful and loving black lab. After Bobo went to the big dog park in the sky my heart was broken. I knew I wanted another dog, and that I needed to wait awhile.

After about 6 months I went to petfinder.com and virtually met many dogs needing homes. I was overwhelmed at the number of sweet, beautiful animals that needed homes. I, of course, wanted to take them all home.

I eventually adopted Lance from Washington German Shepard Rescue. He was a 1-year-old male, who had been through two other homes. He is a sweet and gentle boy who loves meeting and greeting people and other dogs.

Having Lance as a companion has helped my Mental Health. He is loving, non-judgmental and can always make me laugh. Having a pet means a commitment of time and energy. For me life is better with a dog.
