imageSarah Kent, Program Manager
Hello! My name is Sarah Kent, and I started as the Program Manager here at BABES Network on March 28, 2005, shortly after we became a program of the YWCA. Before moving to Seattle on New Year's Eve 2004, I lived in Washington, DC, where I worked at a non-profit organization that provides meals and nutritional counseling to people living with AIDS, cancer, and other illnesses. I am originally from Madison, Wisconsin, but I also lived for eight years in Rochester, New York, where I studied Public Health and Spanish at the University of Rochester and worked in a hospital emergency room. I also spent a summer during this time living in Oaxaca, Mexico, where I learned to speak Spanish, dance Salsa and Merengue, and cook spicy Mexican food!

Right now I live in Capitol Hill with my husband, Graham, and our two cats, Foster and Darwin. My favorite thing to do when I'm not at work is knit. Knitting is the way that I express myself creatively. I never really thought of myself as a creative person until I learned how to knit two years ago, but now I can create beautiful scarves, purses, ponchos, and blankets, and all it takes is a pair of knitting needles, a little yarn, my own two hands, and some imagination! Knitting is a great stress reliever - and finishing a project gives you a wonderful sense of accomplishment! - so I really hope that some of you will join us for the BABES Booga Bag project.

I am so excited to be here at BABES Network-YWCA, and I am truly honored to have this opportunity to work with such an amazing group of women. I look forward to meeting all of you soon. Be well, be creative, and stay in touch!
Peace,
Sarah
imageNicole Price: Event Coordinator/Peer Counselor
My name is Nicole Price, and I am a Peer Counselor and the Event Coordinator at BABES Network-YWCA. I am 33 years old, and I was diagnosed HIV positive in October 2000. I am on HARRT therapy for my HIV, and I am doing pretty well. I am originally from Northern California, and although I really like Seattle, I am still adjusting to the weather!! I live with my boyfriend Mark and my baby Teddy.

I look forward to working with all of you BABES! I hope to see you all at group on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays. Be sure to say “hi” if you stop by the BABES office and feel free to give me a call anytime!
imageKelly Hill: Outreach Coordinator/Peer Counselor
My name is Kelly Hill, and I am a Peer Counselor and the Outreach Coordinator here at BABES Network-YWCA. I moved to Seattle from Bellingham, WA on New Year’s Eve 2004, and I'm really excited to be here and to meet all of you. I am 31 years old and the mother of a beautiful six year-old boy. I have been HIV positive for almost eight years now. Since my diagnosis I have been very involved in HIV work, mainly in prevention and education. I look forward to expanding my horizons here at BABES, and I hope to be someone that you will feel comfortable coming to for support and education.
imageAnita Ethridge: Peer Counselor
Hello! My name is Anita, and I am a new Peer Counselor here at BABES Network-YWCA. I am 39 years old. I am originally from Tacoma, but I have been living in Seattle for five years now. I absolutely love it here, even though it rains a lot.  I am the proud single mother of two adult males—Todd, who is 22 years old, and Geoffrey, who is 18 years old. I have been HIV positive since 1991.  I have been taking medications for the last 10 years, and they have been working great for me.  I am also a recovering addict.  I have been clean and sober for a little over three years.  Sobriety is great.  I am really looking forward to working with all of you.  If you would like to reach me, please call me at 206.720.5566 x4 or email me at anita@babesnetwork.org.  Hope to see you soon!
Thanks,
Anita
imageAmelia Vader: Community Resources Coordinator.
Hi BABES! From the beginning I have been impressed and awed by the wonderful community that is BABES. I am thrilled to be a part of this program because of the fun and committed staff and members. As CRC I coordinate volunteers, develop fundraising strategies and organize donations in addition to performing other office duties.

I'm excited for us to get to know each other, so here is some info about me. I was raised in Bellingham, Washington, where I was lucky enough to have chickens, rabbits, dogs, cats and a big garden. My stay-at-home dad, who was a lot older, raised me to love day-old doughnuts, potato chips, and animals. He passed away when I was 12, so it was just my mom and I until I was 17. I graduated The Evergreen State College in March 2006 after studying Political Science and Spanish. My mom is involved in the HIV testing program at Western Washington University and has always encouraged me to become involved in public health. When I'm not at work I'm probably riding my bike, cooking, or spending time with friends. See you at the next event!

This is a Non-Profit Organization
